Music has always been in my blood. Growing up with musical parents and later marrying a musician who ran a band, threw music festivals, and managed a record label in Arizona, music has been a constant in my life. After moving to Vancouver, I was eager to stay connected to the music scene. One day, I spotted a vacant shop and knew it was the perfect place to start a vinyl-only store. I told my husband, “I think I found a sweet spot for an ONLY VINYL shop,” and the rest is history.

Since opening on November 6th, 2015, 1709 Records has been dedicated to serving vinyl enthusiasts. Recognizing a need in the community, we set out to create a space where vinyl lovers could buy, sell, and trade records without having to go to Portland. Since then, we’ve grown steadily and become a proud part of Vancouver’s vibrant Uptown district, known for its fantastic bars, restaurants, and shops.
